The hustle and bustle of the city reminds me of the busyness of the mind. Just as there is a beauty to constant flow of urban settings, one can find comfort in the ever changing stream of wishes, worries and concerns that occupy the mind. The essence of insight meditation is to be aware of what is happening now without trying to change it to make it something else. When the mind is trained in this nonjudgmental attitude, we can finally rest peacefully because the mind has risen above the push and pull of desires and fears. To practice insight meditation is to know and accept that things are changing.
