Sometimes we get stuck in a rut where we are not making progress in one particular area of our lives. Here’s how insight meditation can help jump-start your progress. When we practice meditation we gain an understanding of the power of karma, how our actions condition us to take similar actions in future. A simple way of saying it is that our actions are habit forming. Obviously this reality can be to our detriment or to our advantage and which one depends on us. If we undertake to make positive contributions to the world, each action we take no matter how small will reinforce that good habit. By practicing insight meditation, we gain confidence in the impact that small changes can have over long periods. This understanding will cause us to automatically start making the necessary changes in our lives, not through will power, but through the gentle incentive of understanding.
