Our teacher is fond of saying, “no obstacle, no success.” What he means is that if you want to get to that next level in life you are going to have to overcome some trials. Good things don’t come easy but once they come, they are often worth the wait and the effort. Quick fix easy solutions are rarely fulfilling.
Learning to practice insight meditation gives us the patience to wait for the long-term payoff rather than quit early and squander what we’ve already invested. The simple act of acknowledging the hinderance and bring the mind back to the present moment every time we get distracted is the key to overcoming all kinds of difficulties and challenges.
