This moment has everything and nothing to offer. This moment right now has everything you need to be happy and none of the regrets and fears that are causing you to suffer. So why do so many of us suffer so deeply? We suffer because we are not trained to be in this moment where we can actually be happy. Our minds are accustomed to wandering to the future and the past. We don’t normally stay with the present moment for long enough to see that it is actually good enough.
The Buddha’s simple teaching is that our thirst for happiness and satisfaction will never be quenched by our external pursuits. The qualities we seek are spiritual in nature and cannot be found on the outside. We must look for them on the inside where they exist already and are waiting for us to observe them.
That is why the method that the Buddha discovered and taught is dominated by mindfulness as its principal ingredient. Above all else, the path to happiness begins and ends by simply knowing what is happening in this very moment. A realization that the present moment is actually good enough is subtle and takes practice to attain. Luckily, we have a tried and true method for training the mind in this practice and we are confident that you can benefit from it. If you follow this method carefully, you can take full advantage of the happiness the present moment has to offer.
