When it comes to happiness, mindfulness training is the ultimate preparation. The greater our ability to be mindful, the more likely we are to be satisfied with a given situation or circumstance.
When we are mindful in the present moment, we are not worried about what may or may not happen in the future nor are we consumed with regret and lament for the past. We are simply aware of the current state of affairs untainted by past or future concerns.
Being happy takes preparation through training but the progressive rewards are exceedingly satisfactory.
