One very good time management strategy is to do things in advance. If we know ahead of time what problems that we’re going to have to deal with, it will pay off to solve them before they occur.
Ironically, for most of us, our problems tend to be fairly recognizable. That is, we are familiar with our most difficult problems that visit us time and time again because we react to them in the same way.
If we can identify the unhealthy patterns to which we have become accustomed simply by becoming aware of them, we can cause the cycle to start to slow down and eventually cease. Freed from a recurring loop of the same behaviour that makes us unhappy, we can finally be at peace.
How do we move from the idea of improving to the reality? We need only begin to train in insight meditation. If we enhance our ability to be aware of what is happening, our habits or tendencies will appear to us as plain as day. Those which are not helpful, once identified, can be converted into positive energy instead. That way we can solve our problems before they happen.
